Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam continues to showcase Filipina beauties as Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, and Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong graced the magazine’s July 2021 10th anniversary cover.

“For the first time, four beauty queens of the Philippines appeared on the same fashion magazine cover. They once carried the crowns of the four most prestigious competitions in the world,” Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam posted.

The queens have gone through four distinct looks, according to BJ Pascual, the photographer behind the shoot, in a YouTube upload.

The first look is based on the Regal film Temptation Island, which was released in 1980. The beauty queens glowed as they posed in the colors of the country.

The glam crew chose to show off an “All Balmain”, face-only look on the queens for the second look.

Eldzs Mejia, the person-in-charge in the shooter’s Creative Direction, stressed that the beauty queens’ faces should be highlighted in this second look because they were “iconic” during their reigns and journeys as beauty queens.

The glam squad chose a “90s Supermodel” inspired style for the third look.

Pascual said that the third look for the Harper’s Bazaar shoot is dedicated to all the gays. The look also pays homage to the iconic Avedon x Versace supermodel campaigns.

“20s menswear” was the inspiration for the fourth and final outfit.

Mejia stated that they wanted to break away from the typical appearances that these queens wear, which led them to use ‘20s menswear-inspired costumes to represent the total opposite of their beauty queen looks.

After Anne Curtis, for the magazine’s 7th anniversary, and Alex Gonzaga, for the 10th anniversary July 2021 edition, Wurtzbach, Versoza, Young, and Ong are the third Filipina beauty to grace the Harper’s Bazaar Magazine Vietnam cover.
